Worst Passwords of 2015

Sure I know this was in 2015, but I felt with with 2016 upon completion in the next 6th months I figured I would share this important information anyways.

California-based security company SplashData has announced the 2015 edition of its annual “Worst Passwords List” revealing the insecure password habits of some Internet users.

According to their data, “123456” and “password” top the list this year. Others in the top 10 are “12345678,” “qwerty”, “12345,” “football,” “1234,” “123456789” and “baseball” and “1234567”.

Newcomers in the top 25 worst password list are “welcome”, “princess”, “starwars” and “1qaz2wsx”. “We hope that with more publicity about how risky it is to use weak passwords, more people will take steps to strengthen their passwords and, most importantly, use different passwords for different websites,” SplashData says.
